ArtBlooms at Annmarie Garden, July 29, 30, 31, 2011 - Calvert Garden Club and Annmarie Garden presented the 2nd Annual ArtBlooms event from July 29 - 31, 2011. Floral designers from many locations in Maryland created 30 floral interpretations of different art objects at Annmarie housed in the spacious Arts Building. This year's featured art exhibits were SuperSize and About Face. The exhibit at the Garden featured works as varied as traditional paintings to modern sculpture to very creative constructions and mixed media. The wide variety of art works provided a challenging environment for the floral designers to expand their creative horizons. The exhibit and Gala reception raised $5000 for landscaping and native plant gardening at Annmarie. Additonal information about Annmarie Garden is available at http://www.annmariegarden.org.

Next Field Trip: October 20, 2011. Lewis Genter Botanical Gardesn and Conservatory in Richmond VA. Details will be discussed at the September meeting.
