Thank you for visiting the Calvert Garden Club web site. Please explore our site to see the many ways we contribute to the Calvert County community.
Our Club strives to expand horticulture knowledge; encourage conservation; protect natural resources; and improve skills in floral and landscape design. We enjoy programs with noted speakers, trips to horticultural and historic sites, and working together on service projects.

If you want to look at the Southern Maryland Sailing Association races, feel free to click on the pictures. This will bring up a 'Picasa' page on your computer. If you hit 'screen show' in the tool bar right above the photos you will have an automated trip through the photos. This is how we will do our photos soon.

Upcoming Events
New Meeting Time: 11am sharp is the new starting time for our meetings. The membership voted to try out an earlier start time for our September and November meetings so we can finish earlier in the day. After assessing how this works for the members, the Club will vote on whether to make this a permanent change. If you have items to set up for floral or horticulture displays or just need 'chatting' time, please be there by 10:30 so the meeting can start promptly at 11am. Thanks.
Next Meeting: September 17, 2009. If you are unable to attend, please remember to notify your hostesses so they have the correct count for the luncheon. The flower design theme for this meeting is "Feelings of Flowers", a mass design with a closed silhouette and no evidence of a linear pattern. The program is entitled "Vegetable Garden Initiative Program."
Next Design Workshop: September 16, 2009 at 10am. Please contact Mary Smolinski for details if you wish to attend.
