National Garden Club

Founded in 1929, National Garden Clubs is a not-for-profit educational organization with headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. It is composed of 50 State Garden Clubs and the National Capital Area, 8,858 member garden clubs and 235,316 members. NGC recognizes 200 International Affiliates.

NGC provides education, resources and national networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, civic and environmental responsibility through the areas of:

Service - recognized as the largest volunteer gardening organization in the world, offering a variety of challenging and rewarding service opportunities.
Environment – aids in the protection and conservation of natural resources, promotes civic beautification and encourages the improvement of roadsides and parks.
Education – awards annual college scholarships, sponsors courses in environmental education, flower arranging, gardening study and landscape design, and promotes good horticultural practices.
Cultural – supports community service projects, sponsors outreach programs for youth and international affiliates, encourages civic development and legislative advocacy.

NGC is composed of members for whom national dues are paid according to the Bylaws. This includes members of a garden club belonging to a State Garden Club, Honorary Life Members, Life Members, National Affiliates, International Affiliates and members of Youth Gardeners.
